How to set up the Again and Again spreadsheet

Type in the headings: start, divide by and add. Type in the start number and the numbers you want to divde by and add.

Enter the formula in B2: B1/$D$1+$D$2. The dollar signs are used to fix the cell reference. When the formula is dragged down the column the formulae will always refer to D1 and not change to D2 or D3. This formula is filled down column B.

How to set up the Mean Series spreadsheet

Type in the headings: First number, Second number. Type in the first two terms of the series.

Enter the formula in B3: (B1+B2)/2. This formula is filled down column B. Other columns can also show the series.

To draw the graph: highlight a column and then select the chart wizard . Choose XY (Scatter) and follow the instructions to label the axes and give the graph a title.
