How to use the software

Canoeing
The canoe will travel the bearing and distance a player sets. This can be done in three ways :

1. By clicking in the bearing and distance boxes and entering the values.
2. By using the keyboard. 'z' and 'x' keys will set the bearing and the up and down keys the distance. (Ensure key repeat is enabled in Windows)
3. By clicking on the icons next to the bearing and distance box.

Once all values have been set either the player needs to press ENTER or click on the GO icon to move the canoe. When a canoe has passed cleanly between the two poles 'GATE PASSED' will be displayed. The course is completed once all eight gates display this message. There is no particular order in which the gates have to be passed. This is a timed event and a record of the quickest time and shortest distance travelled will be recorded. Hitting the markers surrounding the game area incurs a 1 minute penalty.
